As Calibre represent all the major rheology equipment suppliers in the UK, we felt it was the perfect opportunity to host the Methods in Action workshop alongside AACCi before their annual conference in London. Major equipment suppliers Brabender, C-Cell, Chopin Technologies, Perten Instruments came together under one roof in order to provide practical, working demonstrations of AACCi approved methods and new technology.

The workshop was held at London Southbank University inside the bakery school, in which each manufacturer was allocated a laboratory to set up working examples of their equipment such as; Brabender Farinograph TS, C-Cell Colour, Chopin Mixolab 2 and Perten DoughLab.

The day started with a series of presentations from Paul Cliffe (Calibre) and Devon Petrie (National Bakery School) introducing the format of the day. Michelle Manderfeld (General Mills) was invited to be our guest speaker to discuss the importance of AACCi approved methods and how stringent the process of approving a method is in order to ensure global consistency. After the presentations, Delegates where free to wander between labs during sessions to see equipment in action. The final session of the day was a chance for all the manufacturers to showcase new and exciting equipment and advances in technology.

100% felt that the subjects where covered as promised

100% felt there were no areas that were not addressed

100% felt they were very satisfied or above with the overall workshop

“I thought that the Chopin demonstrations were very well organised and thorough, they went into good detail about the procedure of running the instruments as well as a bit about the technical, also including differences between old instruments and the new. I liked the flexibility on being able to wander in the different rooms.”

“Great workshop, well done Calibre! A lot of hard work put into the event”

“Useful to see new kit and discuss AACCi methods with experts”

“A good opportunity to see various equipment from different companies in one go”

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved in the workshop, and to the delegates, we couldn’t have done it without you!
